10:10 Brighton and Hove uses Energyshare to build support
Energyshare brings people together in person and online to build local renewable energy and efficiency projects.
As well as giving advice and tools to build support online, it also runs the Energyshare fund, giving money to community groups to get renewable energy projects off the ground.
Where the magic happens
Back in October, the 10:10 community got together for the Pitch Pledge Party event and helped us kick off our work in kidney units where we retrofit heat exchangers on inefficient dialysis machines.
It's all pretty technical but each upgraded unit uses a hefty 20% less energy.
Since my last update in December, we've been working with Braun (the company that makes the machines we're upgrading) to track down and get in touch with everyone who owns, one of the inefficient old models. Braun itself also runs a number of units and we are following these up to ensure they're all fitted with the carbon-saving heat exchangers.

Every week is climate week here at 10:10 HQ, but this week is Climate Week, which is different.
For the uninitiated, Climate Week is a year-round campaign that culminates in a week-long extravaganza of practical carbon-cutting goodness, with good stuff springing up all over the country.
If you're responsible for your organisation's 10:10 effort, you know that this carbon-cutting business isn't always smooth sailing – sometimes you need a bit of extra help.
How-to guides are great, but there's no substitute for talking to someone who's actually been there – someone who knows what it's like to pitch an energy-saving idea to a sceptical boss, or put a shiny new transport policy into practice.
